Light Bulbs Unlimited, Serving LA’s Lighting Needs Since 1985

Light Bulbs Unlimited was established in 1985 by Robin Cowan on Wilshire Boulevard in Santa Monica. However, we would soon expand our horizons by opening two more stores across the LA area—one in West Hollywood on Beverly Boulevard and the other in Sherman Oaks on Ventura Boulevard.

After initially specializing in the retail of vintage and hard-to-find light bulbs, or anything else that shined a light, Light Bulbs Unlimited eventually had to switch gears and grow in the world of lighting with the rise of the internet and online shopping. Though we still carry and sell normal and hard-to-find bulbs, as well as a large selection of unique event and party lighting, we decided to not only sell customers light bulbs, but offer to install them at their home and business. Thus, LBU’s mobile service arm, Light Bulb Pros, emitted its first flicker of light and began catering lighting solutions to LA’s lighting needs.

Light Bulbs Unlimited has remained in business for over three decades for one reason—our focus on customer service and adapting to our customers’ needs. With this moldable mindset, unlike Amazon or most hardware retail stores, our lighting experts have proven to be far more than lighting salesman.

By going a step further and offering home and business services like light bulb replacement, installing holiday and Christmas lights, patio lighting and tree wrapping among other mobile services; our Light Bulb Pros at Light Bulbs Unlimited provide that extra level of personalized service rarely experienced anywhere else.

With our philosophy in providing excellent service to our customers at the best possible price, we have managed to build an excellent reputation across the L.A. area. Our local homeowners know us for providing quick inexpensive lamp repairs, lighting advice, and even helping with their kids’ school projects. We also like to give back to our community by supporting our local schools and religious institutions.
